I'm honored to train under Mr. Eddie Mapula. I'm a substitute teacher, Master Boxer, and, most importantly, a Christian. I'm critical and realistic in regards to the quality of instruction that I receive and those who train me- because I'm a professional educator. Most honestly, Mr. Mapula's one-on-one instruction is the BEST. He's a Master Technician and he has allowed me to tap into a whole new dimension in which I will reach that next level as a boxer and beyond. Dear Mr. Mapula: Unlike other testimonials to be found here, I have not been your student. Though a trained Martial Artist as well, I've trained in another venue with instruction other than gained through and from you. Also, I met you as an adult and am actually your senior in years I believe. You were not a childhood influence in the development of my knowledge, desire or discipline. And the tone of this testimonial takes the negative because I believe there is an important message to be heard here. Indeed, your influence on me has been as an adult and as an equal, without the advantage of your training regimen. Which is why I am all the more pleased with having met and known you and I am also enamored of that relationship. I am honored to have had the opportunity to train under you as a growing boy and young man. As you know, we did not have a father in our home. I believe a father is very important for a developing young man and your teachings were instrumental to both my and my brother's development in that sense. Honor, discipline, hard work and courage were traits you emphasized in every single one of your classes. You were and are an exemplary role model. I understand it must be difficult when some of your students do not live to their potential. Rest assured, that is a reflection of their decisions and actions. You did everything you could to influence them otherwise. For me, the discipline you taught me has paid off. I earned a college education, a master's degree, and maintain a lifestyle that emphasizes healthy living. No drugs, no smoking, just healthy food and plenty of exercise. These are the things you literally hammered into our heads during your classes. At the time, your disciplined class format was intimidating and I was honestly fearful at times. Looking back, I understand 100% what you were doing and I thank you.
